At Okotoks Karate we teach small classes of Goju-Ryu Karate. We focus on traditional training techniques with the ultimate goal of being a better person through the study of Karate.
All classes are taught by Sensei Steve Vinden who has over 35 years in Martial Arts. His unique teaching style will help everybody from beginners to experienced karate-ka. We focus on building strength and stamina while focusing on good technique.
We have broken down the classes to cater to children, families and adults. Class times will be used learning not only about the physical aspects of karate but encompassing the history of Karate, the spirit of Karate, Self Defense and even the Japanese language.
We have dedicated 12 classes per week and will arrange special training sessions and seminars with local, national and international Martial Artists.
The goal of Okotoks Karate is to spread the wisdom and insight of the Martial Arts while working within our community to make it a better place to live.
We have managed to keep student fees low and the quality high with fees as low as $50 per month. There are no contracts to sign and we run outdoor classes during the summer when weather permits.
