A town in east-central Alberta, Canada, is called Wainwright. It is 206 kilometers (128 miles) or so southeast of Edmonton.

Wainwright, in the Battle River valley, is 61 kilometers (38 mi) south of Vermilion and is situated just west of the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary. Highway 14 and Highway 41, often known as the Buffalo Trail, pass through the town.

Southwest of Wainwright, in Denwood, is where CFB Wainwright is situated.
